Lately, nail polish companies have been bringing back creamy brown polishes, hinting a bit at the hues I wore in the 90's. So it's no surprise that I am in love with this rich, dark chocolate nail polish.

A Bit Dark

You know those days where nothing goes your way? Everything that can go wrong does, and the result is just being frustrated and cranky? Yup, that was my day yesterday. I realized, as I sat sulking under a wool throw with a cup of tea, that my mood was reflecting my nail polish a bit too closely.

Fall Cool

This is a great autumn nail color. It's Essie Merino Cool, a dusty gray purple that they released in their fall collection several years ago. I love the neutral, moody base. The cream formula is perfect and make it almost a one-coater.

Weekend Laid Back

 

This past weekend was very relaxing. I spent most of it catching up on some much needed sleep and laying low. The weather is finally hinting at fall, I got some errands done, and I had a chance to wear some Made-in-the-USA things (old and new).

The Toes Are Out!

With the temperatures rising, my feet have been exposed almost all the time now. I visited my local nail salon recently to make sure that my tootsies were summer ready and picked out this fun fuchsia color for my toenails.

Spring Ready

I am ready for warmer weather. My feet are almost ready.

Sage

Indecision is one of my downfalls. When I can't decide what to wear on the nails, sometimes a taupe-y neutral is my compromise. It's not really apparent from the above photo, but this one definitely slants on the purple side. It's SpaRitual in Sage. This is the first time I've tried this brand and so far I am impressed. Their polishes are 4-free and vegan.

Now on to the next decision-making conundrum, what to do for dinner...?

Springy Watermelon

My friend, Heidi, sent me this photo via text the other day. Caption: "Springy Watermelon #gettingaheadofmyself." Like some of us warm-weather lovers, she's getting antsy for spring. Want to fast forward the seasons a little early? Get something that screams "Spring!" onto your fingertips. Heidi's beckoning the vernal season with Essie Watermelon, a pinky red polish. Until then, count down the days until March 20th. Good call, Heidi.

Wicked

 

This is one of my all-time favorite nail polishes. Described as "a deep and dark creamy sinister red," Essie's Wicked is the perfect vampy red polish. This is a perfect color to wear when the weather gets chilly, but it is classic enough to wear year-round. Great for hands and toes. Applies in two coats to a creamy opaque finish.

Lemony Cuticles

The winter can be especially harsh on skin and hands. Recently, one of my cuticles cracked and bled. It was painful and annoying and I couldn't wait for it to heal. The remedy: Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. The all-natural cream worked it's magic in just a couple of days, helping to soften and moisturize my cuticles back to their normal state. The lemony scent is not overpowering and doesn't last very long.

My only complaint is that the tin can be sometimes difficult to open, especially if you have longer nails. Burt's Bees, if you're listening, I would love some packaging that's easier to open. Thank you in advance.

Bordeaux

In yesterday's winter travel outfit post, you may have noticed my red nail polish. It's one of my favorite nail polishes, Essie Bordeaux. Described as "a deep red wine," it's a color that I can wear wherever and whenever. It looks just as fitting with a tee shirt and jeans as it does with a tailored suit. A true classic.
