Artemis

This is a wine for a celebration.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon 2009. I have had this wine several times while dining out and it is a wine to remember. It's smooth and full-bodied. It's the perfect wine to have with a nice steak on a landmark birthday. Alternatively: an anniversary, a promotion at work, a new home, a new member of the family. Yup, those are the big moments to celebrate. It's also not so snooty that you couldn't pair it with a burger, eating in your jammies on your couch on a Thursday just because.

This particular bottle is my gift to my mom for Mother's Day. I know this is something that she would really love. Plus, I felt a wine named after a strong woman, Greek goddess of childbirth and fertility, was only fitting. What do you have planned for your mom? I bet your mother would like a good bottle of wine. (I'm just throwing that out there.)

P.S. A good everyday Cabernet.

  1. There is no shortage of wine made in the USA. There are plenty of wine makers in California, Oregon and Washington. Even New York makes a fair amount of wine. I don't think wine made in the USA is an endangered species for quite a while. -Jack A
