Kansas City and Hammerpress

I always like to have a souvenir from my travels that is not so blatantly a souvenir, but will always make me think of my trip when I see it or use it. I am a sucker for letterpress. So when I walked past Hammerpress studio in Kansas City, I knew I had to have some of their great prints.

This is part III of my account of my trip to Kansas City during Craft Beer Week.
Part I: Kansas City and Craft Beer Week
Part II: Kansas City and the Belfry

I had seen some of Hammerpress' work around town, including their incredible Boulevardia poster. It was this 'Stay True' print though, which I spotted in their studio window while walking by, that I fell for right away. Printed on heavy, recycled dark gray 17" x 11" paper, she was destined to come home with me.

I also picked up these letterpress postcards: printed on heavy-duty, double-thick chipboard. I easily could have bought more than the five that I did.

Bison postcard

El Corazon postcard
Pork Cuts postcard

Clipper Ship postcard, with metallic ink

Postcard back

Hammerpress' USA flag postcard series is pretty incredible. In addition, they carry other art prints, concert posters, calendars, gift wrap, and gift tags.

Thanks, KCMO, for a great trip.
