Emerson Fry, Fall 2014

Dear Emerson Fry,

You nail it every season with design and styling. I love the knits, the coats, the textiles, and the sleek silhouettes of this fall collection. You deliver on neutral-palette staples, make pieces that layer effortlessly, brought back some old favorites, and then surprise me with a few new colors and prints for good measure. Thank you for your commitment to production in NYC. Please send me one of everything.

XOXO, Amy

Here are some of my faves from the Fall 2014 looks and pieces:

Classy: drop-sleeve cotton blend top in a linear jacquard pattern + black pencil pant in an ankle length.

Easy: V-neck column dress in wool/silk print. Pocket detail.

Minimalist: cuff-sleeve dress in a dove gray + black skinnies. Add over-the-knee boots...

... or layered up with a big knit scarf, tweed overcoat, and heels (as shown on their catalog cover, above).

Cozy: the return of the chunky cable knit turtleneck sweater. Here in gray...

...here in a darker charcoal gray with zip-ankle tan twill pants (their 3rd generation Mick pant)....

...and in a lighter dove gray. Love the seam detail on the Mick pants.

Looks great with this black wrap midi skirt with its gunmetal buckle detail.

A uniform: chambray button-down shirt + relaxed Frenchie pant in an iron gray + stud belt.

Casual: gray pullover hoodie sweatshirt + camo-print Intrepid parka + a black beanie hat.

Relaxed: ivory v-neck tee + gray cotton cardigan + Frenchie pant + long tailored coat in a coated
black wool blend.

Pulled together: indigo denim Mick pants + luxe Emerson crewneck tee + long tailored coat in a light fawn wool blend.

Comfy: gray wool topper coat with shorter rolled-up sleeves.

Sexy: black skinnies + the gray camo-print version of this sleeveless mod top. Hook-and-eye closure at the neck.

Versatile: layering racerback dress in double-faced black and white...

... and in a linear jacquard, worn alone here with some ankle boots...

... the black version layered up with black ankle pants + black wool open-stitch net dress + OTK boots.

Sporty: combo dress in black, with 3/4 length raglan coated cotton sleeves. Pockets.

Work-staple: shirt hem button-up dress in a bright cobalt blue, with elbow-length sleeves and patch pockets.

Classic: Emerson button-down in crisp white + black pencil pant in an ankle length + d'Orsay heels.

Winter-ready: wool zip hoodie in a bright red, luxe Emerson crewneck, and the Frenchie pant in navy. Add snake print flats.

Modern: the gray wool body of this parka is updated with a coated cotton sleeve. So many great details. Shown here with the coal Mick pant.

Final touches: add an inky cotton cardigan and wool/silk printed scarf to a white tee.
