From Head to Toe: The Little Black Dress Outfit

In general, you can't go wrong with a black dress. But you really can't go wrong with a little black dress in a drapey jersey that can be dressed up or down.

Splendid Drapey Lux Dress -- I love this dress: cowl neck (with a double layer at the bust), the right length, cap sleeves, rayon-blend fabric that seems to remain wrinkle free even when stuffed at the bottom of a suitcase, enough substance to be forgiving in all the right places but not so thick that it doesn't drape well. Also available in gray.

Scarlett Glass Quill Pendant -- I picked this up a few summers ago after a nice lunch on Skaneateles Lake with my friend, Jeremy. I couldn't decided which of the many Scarlett Glass pendants (with fused designs ranging from ants to skeletons to jellyfish) to choose. He helped me to decide on this one with a platinum quill feather fused on bright blue glass. Silver chain.

Everlane Women's Sandal --  I love the grommets on these black leather sandals. They are simple in design without being boring. Quite comfortable despite the style of sandal. They did take me a few days to break in and get used to the fastening in the back, but now are just perfect. I wear them with dresses, jeans, and everything in between.

Essie Truth or Flare -- From their Spring 2014 collection, I'm loving this shade of blue. It's a nice compromise between a baby blue and a cobalt blue, much like weathered denim. Perfect for toes in the toe-baring months. The cream formula was I like the black and blue combo with the sandals.
