On this Memorial Day, a reminder about those in the military who don't make it home to loved ones.
"When Lisa Freeman’s son was killed in combat in Afghanistan, she says she would not allow herself to go to a dark place. Instead, she started sewing."

More about the Matthew Freeman Project, from CBS WTVR in Richmond (05/26/2014): "Mother’s heartwarming mission keeps son’s memory alive"

I love this idea! I saw this story online and ugly cried.
ReplyDeleteYep, I chatted with my BFF shortly after and he said, "I told you you're not allowed to watch the news." So true.
DeleteGreat post! I did a round up of my favorite military charities on memorial day, too!
