Spotted in the Movies II
Screen shot of Out of Sight |
I don't know why but I just love this movie. It's one of the ones I can watch over and over without tiring of the plot or characters. Recently, I watched it and saw something new... a nice shot with this American Security safe in one scene.
P.S. See more in the Spotted... photo series.

The Most Exported Made-in-USA Product
There is one product in the United States that is still 100% American-made, one of our top exports, and coveted all over the world. In fact, most of this product in existence right now (as much as two-thirds) is exported. And demand is still growing. Do you know what it is?

Lock It Up
Do you need to secure your things in a locker? Well, you're gonna need a lock. Like most everyone else, you'll probably get a combination lock like this one from Master Lock. Hopefully, you won't forget the three numbers that unlocks yours. The combination lock dials come in a rainbow of colors, if black is not your thing. They even make locks with a backup key entry, with letter combinations, and ones in which you choose your own code. Fancy.
Fun math fact: A lock combination isn't really a combination at all. It's a permutation. I guess permutation lock doesn't quite have the same ring to it, though, does it?

Fort McHenry

I spent this past weekend in Baltimore to visit family and get in some holiday time a little early. While we were there, we took a little break from eating and drinking our way around the city to visit Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, best known for flying the flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the "The Star-Spangled Banner." Besides being a great historical national park and having a gorgeous view of the harbor, their gift shop clearly labels the items made in the USA.
Kudos to them!

Welcome to the American-Made Guide to Life
Over the past few years, I have been dedicated to finding American-made goods for myself, my friends, and my family. This blog is dedicated to highlighting quality products that are USA-made. My goal is to educate people on how to support American businesses and workers without making sacrifices to fashion or function.
Stay tuned for posts on clothing, home items, office supplies, beauty products, and gifts... all made in the USA. Want to see a post about a certain topic? Let me know.
Please be patient while I learn the blogging ropes, get some formatting, and work on some ideas.
