American-Made Gifts for Holiday Traditions

Here are five American-made gifts for some memorable holiday traditions:

1. Handmade Wooden Biscuit Cutter (shown here and above) -- My mom and I bought this beautiful wooden biscuit cutter on a summer trip. It works perfectly to make pierogi, a holiday tradition in my family. Handmade in Maine by artist Al Mather.

2. New York Puzzle* -- My mom and I love doing jigsaw puzzles and it has become a holiday (and vacation) tradition for us. This 1,000-piece New York map one from Design Ideas would be my pick for this year.

3. Snowflake Cookie Cutter* or Star of David Cookie Cutter* + Stonewall Kitchen Sugar Cookie Mix* -- Growing up, I always loved  decorating cookies during the holiday season. My favorite shape: the snowflake. Alternatively, the star of Bethlehem. Pair with some sugar cookie mix for a sweet gift.

4. Nordic Ware Ebelskiver Pan* -- Recently, my brother-in-law's girlfriend shared her Midwestern family's tradition of making Ebelskivers on Christmas morning. So much fun and so tasty. Enjoy with boozy coffee cocktail. Of course.

5. Christmas Tree Ornaments -- I love decorating the Christmas tree with unique ornaments that remind me of loved ones and places I've visited. My husband and I discovered the Christmas Spirit shop while vacationing in Bar Harbor, ME this summer and bought this lobster trap ornament as a souvenir. Everything sold at this shop is made in the USA. Plus, they'll personalize any ornament for free.
