Recent American-Made Purchase

I have a fall cocktail/dinner event to go to in a couple of weeks and was looking for something to wear. I wanted something comfortable and simple, a little bit more interesting than just a plain shift dress, and could easily be worn for future events. This dress fit the bill.

Helmut Lang Sonar Twist Knot Shift Dress* in charcoal. It's made with a super soft wool that drapes nicely. No zippers or buttons to fuss with. Love the twist detail on the shoulder and the relaxed fit of the top with the fitted bottom.

I had this Helmut Lang dress on my wish list last season but I dropped the ball and never purchased since I didn't have a reason to wear something like this. Fast forward to now when I do have a reason. Alas, no longer sold in stores. Buuuuut, I did find it at the Woodbury Commons outlet. I tried it on, it fit great, got the thumbs up from my husband, and it is currently hanging in my closet. Score. Now, I just need to figure out what shoes and accessories I'm going to wear.
