Website Searches for American-Made Products

Note: This was originally a post from 1/15/2013. It is now a permanent page and will be updated occasionally.

Shopping for American-made items is made exponentially easier thanks to the Internet. Between Google searches and individual website searches, I have been able to shop and find items that I need pretty quickly. Some websites are better than others, however, and I wanted to share with you the sites that I find easy to navigate for this purpose.

It is especially nice, for example, when websites list the origin of items along with other description information. Some allow searches within their site. I find that I have to sometimes tweak my search wording but often "made in usa" works best. Some even offer a tab or link on their home page for all the American-made items available.

As always, be wary of using a website search results to ensure that the item is American-made. Read the description carefully. When in doubt, email the website's customer service and ask about the origin of the product in question.
