Spotted at the Construction Site

Spotted this sign at a construction site today: "DANGER; CONSTRUCTION AREA; KEEP OUT." Well, ok then.

The Master Plan

Instagram can be dangerous for people who get inspired by a picture and have.to.have.that.thing.right.now. I don't get that way about a lot of things, but nail polish is one of them.

The Eyes Have It

Lately, I've been noticing that my eyes have been showing my age a bit more. Puffy, dark circles, under-eye bags, just tired looking. And are those fine lines I'm seeing? Good grief. Anyway, maybe I just need to go bed earlier. Maybe I just need to pop a couple of chilled tea bags on my eyes more regularly. Or, maybe I need to start using some eye cream. ::gasp::

Now hear me out, I'm not entirely convinced that these eye treatments work. While there are some skin experts who believe that additional eye cream is unnecessary, there are some who say that products for the eye area can be beneficial. I know people who use them, however, and they swear up and down that they work. While I am not a beauty expert, I'm in the can't-hurt-to-try-things camp. So, I decided to sample a few eye products for myself.

Abstract botanical print shirt with white ankle-zip jeans

Emerson Fry's Spring 2014 preview shows that they're still sticking to the basics: black, white, gray, denim, stripes, floral and geometric prints, and simple silhouettes. Here are a dozen thirteen looks I like.

Amour Vert, Spring 2014

Despite the fact that we're in the middle of a major snowstorm and "polar vortex," fashion is already preparing for the warmer months. Here are my favorite looks from Amour Vert's Spring 2014 lineup, with some of my notes.

Putting Away Christmas

We put away the Christmas things ages ago, but I just forgot to blog about it. This great plastic storage bin is where some of our Christmas decorations live in their off-season under our bed.

A Bit Dark

You know those days where nothing goes your way? Everything that can go wrong does, and the result is just being frustrated and cranky? Yup, that was my day yesterday. I realized, as I sat sulking under a wool throw with a cup of tea, that my mood was reflecting my nail polish a bit too closely.
