The American Pastime

My wife's Boston Red Sox baseball hat

Today's post is courtesy of my husband, Dan, the Yankees fan. (Yes, you read correctly.)

What's more American than baseball? My thoughts exactly. An American sport calls for an American-made hat.

New Era hats, the official hat of Major League Baseball. Headquartered in Buffalo New York, they are the official supplier for MLB as well as the Korean, Japanese, and Australian leagues. They are also licensed to distribute over 200 different college teams as well as the NBA, NFL, and NHL team wears.

Their hats come in many different styles, my favorite being a fitted NY Yankees hat. My wife however roots for the Red Sox. Baseball season is always interesting in our house and needless to say, with a World Series berth, she's the happy one this year.

Her choice of head-ware for these games will be the same wool BoSox hat she's had since 2000. What can I say? The hats last a while. Over the years I have owned several and I've been very happy with the quality. (Choose wisely, though, I have come to notice that not all of their hats are American made.)

Go Red Sox!

  1. BOOOO! Sorry, I had to. This year just hasn't been a good year for NYC sports teams.

    1. That's okay, Heidi. You'll at least have my husband for company over there in the NY-sports-fan corner.

  3. Sounds like my family. Wife is a dyed in the wool Sox fan, being from New England and all, and I'm a Yankess fan. The baby is still undecided, but if the Wife has her way, I'll be outnumbered.
